This policy explains how Grow Billion Trees (Brand-Gateway Technologies Pvt Ltd, "we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you use growbilliontrees.com (the "Site") or buy from us.

What we collect
- Device information: browser version, IP address, time zone, cookie information, the pages and products you view, search terms and how you use the Site. Collected automatically through cookies, log files, tags and pixels, to make the Site work and to understand how it is used.
- Order information: name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number and payment confirmation. Card and payment details are handled by our payment providers; we do not store full card numbers. Used to process your order and payment, plant your tree, send your certificate and invoices, and contact you about your order.
- Tree dedication details: names, occasions, messages or photos you add to a tree. Used to create your certificate and digital forest page.
- Enquiries, reviews and support: details you send through our forms, email, phone or WhatsApp, such as your name, organisation, contact details and message. Used to reply to you, provide support and, for reviews you allow us to publish, to show your review.
Public digital forest pages
If you add a name or message to a tree, it may appear on your certificate and on the public digital forest page for that project, together with the tree species and planting details. We do not publish your email address, phone number or order number. To remove or change a public name or message, email us.
Children
The Site is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian can plant or gift a tree in a child's name. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed to run our services, with:
- Shopify, which powers our online store (Shopify privacy policy);
- checkout and payment providers, such as GoKwik, Razorpay, Easebuzz, PayU and Paytm, to process payments;
- Judge.me, to collect and show product and store reviews;
- messaging providers, such as BIK, to send order updates and reply on WhatsApp and email;
- our planting partners, who plant and care for trees, and our own tracking platforms, which hold planting and certificate records;
- analytics and advertising partners (see below);
- authorities, where the law requires it or to protect our rights.
Analytics and advertising
We use your information to measure how the Site is used and to show you relevant advertising and marketing. We use:
- Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Site (Google privacy policy). You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Google Ads and the Meta Pixel, to measure our ads and show ads to people who visited the Site. Information about your use of the Site and your purchases may be shared with these partners through cookies and similar technologies.
You can control ads from these services in your Google ad settings and Meta ad preferences, or through your browser's cookie settings.
How we use your information
To offer and sell our trees and services, process payments, plant and track trees, send certificates and updates, provide support, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations, and, where you have agreed or where the law allows, tell you about new programmes and offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
Legal basis
We process personal information with your consent, to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations, and for other lawful uses allowed under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you are in the European Economic Area, we rely on the equivalent lawful bases under the GDPR: consent, performance of a contract, legal obligations and our legitimate interests.
How long we keep it
We keep order and certificate records for as long as needed to provide your tree's tracking and certificate and to meet legal and tax requirements, unless you ask us to erase information we are not required to keep.
Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions about you based only on automated processing that have a legal or similarly significant effect. Our store platform, Shopify, uses limited automated checks to prevent fraud, which do not have such an effect.
Your rights
You can ask us to show the personal information we hold about you, to correct or update it, to erase it, or to withdraw a consent you gave. You can also nominate someone to use these rights for you. To make a request, email care@growbilliontrees.com. We will reply within the time the law requires.
Our store data is processed by Shopify and other providers, which may store it outside India.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file saved on your device when you visit the Site. We use cookies to make the Site work, remember your preferences, and for analytics and advertising as described above. Cookies needed for the store to work include:
