Quick answer
Multiply each activity by its emission factor and add them up: fuels burned on site and in vehicles (Scope 1), purchased electricity (Scope 2, using India's grid factor of about 0.710 kg CO₂ per kWh from CEA) and indirect sources such as business flights (Scope 3). The GHG Protocol sets out the method.
The CEA CO₂ Baseline Database v21 gives an all-India weighted average of about 0.710 tonnes of CO₂ per MWh (0.710 kg per kWh) for FY 2024-25.
Scope 1 is from fuels you burn; Scope 2 is from electricity you buy; Scope 3 is everything else in your value chain, such as flights, suppliers and products.
It is a first estimate. BRSR asks for Scope 1 and 2 by site with records behind them; use this to find your biggest sources.
Start with the biggest bar: usually electricity (efficiency and renewables) or fuel. Then balance what remains with trees and verified credits.
