Quick answer

Which calculator should I use?

Companies checking duties should start with the mandate checker or CSR obligation calculator; companies measuring emissions, with the business carbon footprint calculator; industrial sites, with the green belt calculator. For your own footprint, start with the carbon footprint calculator, then the commute, flight, social media or wedding calculators. Every result shows the trees that would balance it.

Common questions

Are the calculators free?

Yes. They run in your browser, need no sign-up, and nothing you enter is stored.

Where do the numbers come from?

Each calculator lists its sources: the Central Electricity Authority for grid electricity, IPCC defaults for fuels, and the UK government's 2025 conversion factors for travel and hotels, used as an approximation for India.

How accurate are the results?

They are estimates for awareness and planning, not audited figures. Companies reporting under BRSR should use measured data and an assured inventory.

How are trees calculated?

Using about 21.8 kg CO₂ taken up by a mature tree each year, allowing for 85% survival across our programmes. Young trees take up much less.

Can Grow Billion Trees plant the trees?

Yes. Individuals can plant from ₹299 a tree; companies can plan a programme with site, species, care and GreenTrack reporting.
