Quick answer

What is the mission of Grow Billion Trees?

Our mission is to plant 100 crore (1 billion) trees across India by 2030, and to make every one count: native trees that survive, tracked on GreenTrack from the day they are planted, on land restored with farmers and communities who benefit from it.

Why it matters

Land is degrading faster than it is being restored.

India has committed to restore 26 million hectares by 2030. Meeting that takes trees that survive, on land that is mapped, with results anyone can check.

How we close the gap

Restoration you can measure, verify and build on

We restore land

Agroforestry, Miyawaki forests, mangroves and water bodies, planted with native species by on-ground teams.

400+ companies plant with us

We make it verifiable

GreenTrack tracks every tree from day one with geo-tags, photos and satellite checks, so each claim holds up to an audit.

85% survival, program-wide

We make it count

Farmers keep the income from fruit and timber. Communities plant and care for the trees. The land gets back soil, water and wildlife, and companies get audit-ready CSR and ESG impact.

About

What we believe

Four principles behind every project.

Survival over numbers

A tree only counts if it lives. We count survival per project and replace saplings that fail.

Survival & methodology →

The right tree in the right place

Native species chosen for the soil, water and needs of each site.

People who benefit

Trees that bring income, food or water to the people around them are the trees that last.

Proof anyone can check

Geo-tags, photos and satellite checks, open to the companies and people who fund them.

How we get there

Four ways the mission scales.

  1. Companies

CSR and sustainability programmes fund planting at scale.

  2. Farmers

Agroforestry puts trees on farmland, with farmers keeping the harvest income.

  3. NGOs and communities

Local partners plant, protect and care for the trees.

  4. Technology

GreenTrack tracks every tree, so progress is visible.

Common questions

What is the 100 crore trees goal?

Our goal is to plant 100 crore (1 billion) trees across India by 2030.

Why focus on survival?

Because a planted tree that dies does nothing for the land or the climate. We count and report survival per project; across our programmes it is 85%.

How can my company help?

Plan a programme with our team; trees can be funded through CSR, net zero or ESG budgets.

How can individuals help?

Plant or gift a tree for ₹299, or join a group plantation drive.
