The project supports the development of a dense urban forest by planting native tree species aimed at restoring biodiversity, improving air quality, and mitigating the urban heat island effect. This initiative aims to foster ecological balance, promote biodiversity, and contribute to a greener urban landscape.

By actively involving its employees in the plantation drive, Priority IDC seeks to cultivate a strong sense of environmental responsibility and collective action. Name of Species: Gulmohar, Peltophorum, Semal, Sehtut, Kachnar, Kadam, Jamun, Arjun, Neem, Tecoma, Custard Apple, Kashid, Rain tree, Belpatra, Yellow Kaner, Karanj, Tulsi, and Drumstick.

Species Selection & Its Benefits: 

The species chosen for Priority IDC Private Limited’s Urban Forestry Initiative were selected to promote ecological resilience, community well‑being, and lasting impact. The diverse blend includes Gulmohar, Rain Tree, Jamun, Neem, Karanj, Peltophorum, Semal, Tecoma, Yellow Kaner, Kachnar, Kadam, Belpatra, Custard Apple, Tulsi, Drumstick, and others—each playing a unique role in enriching the local ecosystem.

Gulmohar dazzles with fiery blooms and wide canopy shade, enhances air quality, stabilizes soil, and aids nitrogen enrichment. Rain Tree brings expansive shade, fixes atmospheric nitrogen to boost soil fertility, attracts pollinators and wildlife, and offers usable timber and medicinal value. Jamun supports food security through its nutrient-rich fruit, while Neem, Karanj, and Arjun improve soil health, provide natural pest resistance, and support microbial life. Flowering trees—such as Peltophorum, Semal, Tecoma, Yellow Kaner, Kachnar, Kadam, and Belpatra—add seasonal beauty, attract biodiversity, and reduce urban heat via evapotranspiration. Meanwhile, fruit-bearing species like Custard Apple and Jamun, along with Tulsi and Drumstick (Moringa), enhance community nutrition and medicinal wellness.

Everyone joined in with great enthusiasm, turning the event into a team-building experience rooted in purpose and sustainability. Employees engaged hands-on in planting, carefully positioning each sapling to support optimal growth and ecological balance.

The plantation concluded with a short reflection session where employees shared thoughts, clicked group photos, and appreciated the collective effort.
