Activities During Tree Plantation

The VOIS tree plantation initiative under the community forest concept involved meticulous site preparation, including soil preparation, pit digging, and site cleaning to ensure optimal conditions for sapling growth. On the plantation day, Vodafone employees actively participated by planting and watering saplings, fostering environmental stewardship and engagement. The event began with a warm welcome by Indev Consultancy, followed by an overview of VOIS initiatives by Mr. Atul Dubey and a session on Miyawaki plantation techniques by Mr. Satender Kumar from Grow Billion Trees (GBT). Representatives from Indev Consultancy, including Mr. Naresh Patel and Mr. Manvendra Pratap Singh, introduced a Plantation Growth Tracking module through a QR code, enabling participants to monitor sapling growth in real-time. Hands-on training on planting techniques was provided by Field Manager Mr. S.P. Dinesh, with assistance from Ms. Nidhi Singh and Mr. Satender Kumar. Participants planted around 1,000 saplings and engaged in discussions on the benefits of the 38 species planted. The day concluded with a reflective session, Q&A, and a closing note by Mrs. Hema Murali, highlighting the collective effort towards sustainability, followed by a communal lunch.
