The plantation included a mix of native, medicinal, and culturally significant species such as Tulsi, Jamun, Ficus, Gudahal (Hibiscus), and Shami. These species were selected for their ability to thrive in Delhi’s semi-arid environment, improve air quality, and support local biodiversity by attracting birds, bees, and other pollinators. Beyond their environmental role, these trees and shrubs also offer medicinal and spiritual value, with Tulsi and Shami holding special significance in traditional Indian practices. The inclusion of fruit- and flower-bearing species like Jamun and Gudahal further enriches the urban ecosystem while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the site.
