The species selected for Endowus India Pvt Ltd's urban forestry initiative were thoughtfully curated to promote biodiversity, enhance ecological resilience, and enrich the urban environment. The selection includes a balanced mix of native, shade-giving, and fruit-bearing trees: Jamun, Mango, Star fruit, Sapota, Lemon. These trees were chosen for their adaptability to the local climate, their ability to improve air quality, and their contribution to community well-being.

Jamun, Mango, Star fruit, Sapota, and Lemon are carefully selected fruit species for their combined environmental, social, and economic benefits, as they are well-suited to Indian climatic conditions and offer long-term sustainability. Jamun enhances soil health, supports biodiversity, and provides medicinally valuable fruits, while Mango delivers high economic returns, nutrition, and shade. Star fruit is a fast-growing species with good market demand and value-addition potential. Sapota offers regular yields of energy-rich fruits with strong income stability, and Lemon ensures quick, year-round production with high vitamin C content and consistent market value, collectively supporting livelihoods, food security, and green cover expansion.
