Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance has embarked on a tree plantation initiative, planting 1,100 trees across urban and rural landscapes. This dual-concept effort integrates urban forests and agroforestry to enhance green cover, improve biodiversity, and foster a healthier environment for future generations.
Urban Forestry
At Baner Hills, the company adopted an urban forest approach by planting 100 trees, creating a dense green space amidst the city that enhances biodiversity, mitigates pollution, and offers a refreshing natural retreat for the community. This urban forest, rich with native species, is a vital step toward improving air quality and supporting urban wildlife.

Tree Plantation Purpose
Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance (BALIC) has launched a transformative tree plantation initiative, planting 1,100 trees to drive environmental sustainability and promote social well-being. The project follows a dual-concept approach: 1,000 trees planted in an agroforestry model in Girvi, Satara, and 100 trees established in an urban forest model at Baner, Pune.
The agroforestry model integrates trees with agricultural systems, providing a host of ecological and economic benefits. It enhances biodiversity, improves soil health, and boosts crop yields while supporting farmers with sustainable livelihoods. This model contributes to SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by promoting community collaboration and responsible land use.
The urban forest model aims to restore greenery in urban spaces, improving air quality, mitigating heat island effects, and fostering urban biodiversity. These forests also offer peaceful green spaces for community engagement and mental well-being, advancing SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
This initiative reflects BALIC’s commitment to its SDG(Sustainable Development Goals) and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals, integrating rural and urban sustainability efforts to create a meaningful legacy for generations to come.
