In line with its vision of creating a positive societal impact beyond business operations, Alliad has partnered with Grow Billion Trees to launch a large-scale tree plantation initiative. This project underscores the company’s dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. By actively participating in reforestation and green-cover restoration, Alliad seeks to address pressing environmental challenges while inspiring communities and stakeholders to join in fostering a culture of sustainability.

Name of Species: Guava, Lemon, Chiku, Mango, Jamun.

Species Selection & Its Benefits: 

The species selected for Alliad's urban forestry initiative were thoughtfully curated to promote biodiversity, enhance ecological resilience, and enrich the urban environment. The selection includes a balanced mix of native, shade-giving, and fruit-bearing trees: Guava, Lemon, Sapota, Mango, and Jamun. These trees were chosen for their adaptability to the local climate, their ability to improve air quality, and their contribution to community well-being.

Each species brings unique environmental and health benefits. Guava, Lemon, Jamun, Chiku, and Mango are nutrient-rich, fruit-bearing trees that offer seasonal produce packed with vitamins, supporting nutrition, and food security. Jamun is valued for its medicinal benefits, particularly in managing diabetes and improving digestion.

Together, these species not only green the cityscape but also foster a healthier, more sustainable urban ecosystem, perfectly reflecting Alliad's commitment to innovation with a conscience.

Urban forests play a vital role in building resilient, sustainable cities that benefit both the environment and the people who live in them.

Advantages of Urban Forest

  • Climate Regulation and Cooling Effect: Urban forests help mitigate the urban heat island effect by providing shade and cooling through transpiration, lowering temperatures in cities, reducing the need for air conditioning, and conserving energy.

  • Improved Air Quality: Trees absorb pollutants such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter, leading to improved air quality and a reduced risk of respiratory illnesses in urban areas.

Activities During Tree Plantation

The tree plantation drive at National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management, MANAGE, Manage Rd, Police Quarters, Rajendranagar mandal, Hyderabad, Telangana 500030 was marked by active employee participation, fostering a strong sense of environmental responsibility and teamwork. The event was carefully structured to ensure smooth execution and meaningful engagement.

In preparation for the plantation, the site was readied with pre-dug pits, and saplings were carefully placed and positioned for optimal growth.
